The beauty of a rose is thought to be a double-edge sword due to the number of thorns that are up and down the stems. However, there are some genetically altered roses without thorns on the stems. Put a vase on your coffee table of twelve roses and by the next day, your cat will have eaten most of the petals. Cats love the taste and do not seem to get sick from eating as many petals as they can.
This could be due to the high vitamin C content that roses have, roses giving rose hips to the vitamin world. In addition, there are many rose teas. The attractiveness of roses and the aroma of roses is why this flower, in a host of varieties, is a favorite flower to give that someone special.
If you travel a lot, you will find that steam-extracted essential oil comes from rose flowers and is an essential ingredient in many perfumes made in France. This extraction process has been going on for many centuries. The many rose plants come in a huge variety of colors and sizes, not just from the stem upward, but also for the rose petals. These plants are sold with the customer in mind.

The miniature roses are a huge favorite for brides. At weddings, flower girls constantly seem to be throwing rose petals out of their flower baskets as they walk up the aisle before the bride. Many wedding nights will have rose petals decorating the marriage bed.
Roses need a lot of water and that is why most flowers are grown where there is a large water supply. Surprisingly, there are a number of roses are grown in dry, arid locations like Arizona.
